Bowling Green units respond to fire at Lost River Cave maintenance headquarters

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local organization is thanking the Bowling Green Fire Department for its quick response to a fire Tuesday.

Battalion Chief Joe Harbin with the Bowling Green Fire Department has confirmed that BGFD was dispatched to the 800 block of Cave Mill Road at 11:28 Tuesday morning.  According to Harbin, upon arrival units found a heavy fire from the area of an attached garage.  Units quickly put out the fire before it could spread to the rest of the building.

Lost River Cave’s CEO Justin Jennings shared the following statement:

“This year has brought more than its share of challenges to Lost River Cave — from historic flooding to fallen trees and now this fire. Despite it all, our mission continues. We remain committed to protecting and sharing this special place with our community.”

Jennings said, “We’re thankful for the ongoing support of our staff, board, volunteers, partners, and guests. It’s that support — and the tireless work of our local first responders — that helps us navigate the hard days and keep looking ahead.”
