BRAWA seeking information about animals dropped in shelter parking lot

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren River Animal Welfare Association is working to learn more after the shelter says a dog and three of her puppies were dropped in its parking lot.
The shelter says the animals were left on the property around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.
General manager of BRAWA, Connie Greer, says this is the third time animals have been dropped there this week.
Greer says, “We are not trying to shame anyone, however, it is illegal to leave an animal unattended without proper food, water and shelter. We would like to find out information on the animals.”
According to Greer, the animals were left loose in the parking lot today.
She says shelters are “extremely overcrowded, and most shelters cannot take any animals out of their current county.” She says they do not currently know if these animals left there today are owned or strays.
Greer says the animals are currently safe and secure at BRAWA.
