SoKY’s Choice: House on the Hill’s “Art of Home”
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A nonprofit that supports families in Warren County is hosting an art fundraiser.
House on the Hill is a Warren County-based non-profit that aims to provide food programs and housing assistance to families in need.
Executive Director Joel Hawkins says fundraisers will provide the opportunity to help more people.
“Right now, house people in our transitional housing program, and we have to turn people away because we don’t have enough space and we want to raise money,” says Hawkins.
House on Hill’s latest fundraiser brings artistry and the feeling of home together.
“The theme of our gallery show is the Art of Home. So all of our artists have themed something or brought something to the exhibit that deals with home or the feelings at home, giving us or their interpretation of home. You don’t see a lot of gallery shows. You don’t see a lot of artists coming together in one space. We have about 20 artists in this show,” says Hawkins.
The community will have the opportunity to view the gallery and have some family fun in June.
We have as part of our fundraiser. It’s going the whole month of June. So the is open 1 to 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of June. Then we have a family event on June 14th, which is a Saturday at 9:00 am. We have ice cream for breakfast,” says Hawkins.
Hawkins says the family event will feature a special strawberry Pop Tart flavor made by Meltdown.
House on the Hill’s goal is to raise $20,000.
