Beshear presents more than $1.9 million to support young cancer patients

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear is taking new steps to support children battling cancer here in Kentucky.
According to Norton Children’s, he announced more than $1.9 million in funding to help young cancer patients, joined by Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, senior advisor Rocky Adkins and leaders from the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund.
The announcement took place at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, where the governor also signed a proclamation recognizing Brain Cancer Awareness Month.
Last year, Beshear helped secure $14 million in state funding to fight childhood cancer.
Beshear says, “We’re standing up to make sure our children get the treatment they need to save their lives.”
