First ‘Old Get Together’ event strikes a chord at Potter Farm
Potter Farm hosts successful debut of 'The Old Get Together' Celebration
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – The inaugural Old Get Together celebration transformed the historic Potter Farm into a vibrant celebration of folk culture on the Saturday before Memorial Day. The event featured live music, vintage baseball, artisan vendors, and a strong sense of community.
Organized by local musician Adam Moore, the celebration aimed to fill a cultural gap in Bowling Green’s music scene. “We’ve kind of always wished there was a little more live music, a little more bluegrass here,” Moore said. “Part of the impetus of this was to bring some bluegrass down from Ohio County.”
The celebration showcased performances by artists such as The North Shore, Jake Xerxes Fussell, and Cutter & Cash. Attendees also enjoyed a vintage baseball game between the Bluegrass Barons and Hog & Hominy, as well as a craft market featuring local vendors like Spencer’s Coffee and Cassady’s Real Smoke.
Despite being its first year, the celebration exceeded expectations. “I was so overwhelmed with how many people showed up,” Moore said. “I was kind of expecting a couple hundred people, and pretty sure we had over 8 or 900 folks show up today.”
Looking ahead, Moore hopes to maintain the celebration’s intimate, family-friendly atmosphere. “I don’t want to turn it into the big festival vibe, where it’s overwhelming,” he said. “I want it to still feel cozy and feel like families can hang out.”
With its successful debut, The Old Get Together has established itself as a promising new tradition in Bowling Green’s cultural landscape. To find out more about the event and its plans for 2026 as it approaches, visit their website at TheOldGetTogether.com.
