FEMA opens Disaster Recovery Center in Hart County

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – FEMA has opened a new Disaster Recovery Center in Hart County that is now available to help the public apply for assistance.

The new center is located in the basement of the Hart County Community Center on Raider Hollow Road in Munfordville and is open the same times as the Bowling Green Center we reported on yesterday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Representatives with FEMA who are in Hart County stress the importance of making sure they are able to get to every county and help out all those who have been affected by the April flooding.

“We want to make sure that we don’t leave anybody behind. Individuals who were impacted by those floods, who had some damage, who need some assistance. We try our very best to get into as many communities as possible, so people can have something right in their backyard to come and speak to FEMA staff and get that help applying for assistance,” Nicole Wilson, a public information officer with FEMA, says.

Again, the deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is June 25.
