Junior Achievement of south-central Kentucky presents J.A. Girls International

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky has partnered with the Educational Opportunity Centers at WKU to host the J.A. Girls International event Tuesday, April 29.

Organizers say they will have 30 international students from Warren Central High School at the event to “empower, mentor and inspire” all attending young women.

The mission of J.A. Girls International is to prepare young women for economic success by giving them hands-on experiences and opportunities.

According to organizers, young women will learn how to network, reflect on positive daily practices for difficult situations, learn more about the college process, discuss entering the workforce and identifying resources in the community that can help with these processes.

Junior Achievement says the J.A. Girls philosophy was designed to complement the unique approach of allowing volunteers to deliver “proven curricula that focuses on entrepreneurship, workforce preparation and financial literacy through experiential hands-on programs.”

The goal is to increase students’ knowledge and build skills in economic literacy, career preparation and entrepreneurship.
