Hope Harbor hosts annual Take Back the Night event
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Celebrating four decades of services to sexual assault victims doesn’t happen without support form the community.
Hope Harbor, Inc. held their popular annual event, Take Back the Night, to bring the community out to educate children and adults about the importance of knowledge and resources available for anyone who’s experienced violence or if you know someone who’s experienced this.
Emily Luttrell, violence prevention education coordinator, says, “Our hope is that people understand how their community does support them and that they don’t have to stay quiet or feel like they’re ashamed of what has happened to them. We want people to know that we’re here for them, and there are a ton of other resources in the community that can also help them if violence has affected them in any way.”
If you want to provide support in any way, Hope Harbor is always looking for volunteers, whether you enjoy gardening or if you want to be an advocate for a victim.
