National Weather Service Louisville confirms EF-2 tornado in Barren County
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – During recent severe weather, a tornado reportedly hit Barren County.
This was confirmed Wednesday with the National Weather Service Louisville, which stated the tornado reached an EF-2 level in the county on April 3.
NWS officials say estimated peak winds reached 120 miles per hour, with the tornado’s recorded path reaching 4.9 miles.
NWS data states the tornado started in Griderville at around 1:04 a.m. and ended in Seymour roughly five minutes later.
According to officials, one injury was reported involving a 13-year-old girl with a broken arm.
