State police investigating fatal Monroe County crash

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Monroe County.

KSP says it responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on County House Road on Tuesday evening.

According to KSP’s initial investigation, Ty Graves, 19, of Tompkinsville, was traveling west on County House Road on a motorcycle. Graves attempted to overtake another vehicle traveling west in a no-passing zone.

Graves failed to see the vehicle driven by Marilyn Deweese, 76, of Tompkinsville. The vehicles collided.

Graves was transported for life-threatening injuries where he later died. Graves was pronounced deceased by the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.

Deweese sustained minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
