UPDATE: Bowling Green woman died after falling on knife
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- There is new information on a New Year’s Eve death investigation in the city of Bowling Green.
Bowling Green police announced Friday that the woman who died fell on a knife that was located inside a bag she was carrying.
Shirley Brince, 71, wad discovered unconscious and in a pool of her own blood last Tuesday evening on a sidewalk on Durbin Drive.
Police said surveillance video shows the woman falling before being assisted by individuals in two different vehicles, but moments later, while walking, she falls again, this time on the bag she was carrying.
Police said the bag had a hole where the knife had poked through the material and into Brince’s side.
Police are still interested in speaking with the occupants in those vehicles who assisted Brince.
Police don’t anticipate any criminal charges.
