Police conduct major drug bust following overdose death in Portland
PORTLAND, Tenn. – An overdose death leads to a major drug bust in Portland.
The Portland Police Department says it was notified of a suspected overdose death at a home on Saturday evening.
The department gathered evidence at the scene and it obtained a warrant. The location of the home has not been released.
Suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl cut with methamphetamine, codeine, cocaine, marijuana, acid/LSD, scales, and mushrooms were discovered along with packing items.
Police say a man attempted to enter the rear of the house while officers were conducting the investigation.
The suspect, Michael Casey Fowler, 41, was apprehended and is lodged at a local jail with a $1,000,000 bond.
Fowler is charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia (felon), maintaining a drug house, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver or sell marijuana, selling Xanax, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell cocaine.
The department says the investigation into the suspected overdose death is ongoing.
The suspect may face additional charges.
