State police investigating fatal Grayson County collision

CLARKSON, Ky. – State police are investigating a fatal collision in Grayson County.
Kentucky State Police says troopers responded to an assistance call from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a two-vehicle collision near the 4000 block of Grayson Springs Road Monday afternoon.
KSP’s preliminary investigation shows Charles E. Cann, 42, of Clarkson, was driving on the eastbound lane of Grayson Springs Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer operated by Bonnie T. Sims, 68, of Clarkson. The reasons for Cann’s vehicle crossing the center line are unknown.
The Grayson County Coroner’s Office pronounced Cann dead at the scene.
Sims received injury treatment at Lakes Medical Center. Sims has been released from the hospital.
The accident site on Grayson Springs Road was closed for several hours to allow KSP to reconstruct the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
