Man charged with assault, resisting arrest in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges after a reported incident in Glasgow over the weekend.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police received a call around 10:14 p.m. Sunday regarding a reported assault.
Troopers say they were notified that a male, identified as Torrance Porcha, 42, of Rowletts, had left a residence in Glasgow in the victim’s vehicle.
Officials say Barren County deputies located the vehicle with Porcha in the driver seat.
Upon KSP’s arrival at the residence, troopers say they were told Porcha had been staying there for two days and had choked the victim and thrown her into a table during this time.
Authorities say they were also told Porcha threatened to “kill” the victim and her child.
Troopers say they observed the victim’s neck was red with a knot above her forehead.
While speaking with Porcha, troopers say he became “irate” and did not follow commands to place his hands behind his back.
Authorities say he continued to resist arrest by pulling away.
Porcha was placed under arrest and transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
Authorities say while at the jail, Porcha was making statements while turning toward a trooper, stating that “when he got out of jail,” the trooper “would be seeing him again.”
Porcha is charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) minor injury, first-degree strangulation (domestic violence related), third-degree terroristic threatening, menacing, resisting arrest, driving in a DUI-suspended license (third offense) and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first offense.
