Volunteer of the Year Awards open for nominations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Volunteers in Action is seeking nominations for its 34th annual Volunteers of the Year Awards.

According to Community Education, this is the chance to recognize a volunteer that has made a lasting impact with their hard work and dedication.

Honoree categories:

  • Anne Grubbs Spirit of Service Award: This award shall go to the person excelling in quality, length, and spirit of service to others.
  • Team Spirit Award: This award will recognize those groups who work together to provide volunteer service in the community.
  • Rising Star Award: This award will recognize an individual or team who is new to volunteering and gaining momentum with your organization.
  • Young Leader Award: This award will recognize an individual or team who is 18 years old or younger and providing volunteer service in the community.

All nominees will be recognized as winners for their organizations, receiving a memento and certificate at the Volunteer of the Year Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 27 at the Bob Kirby Library at 2 p.m.

Award recipients will receive plaques.

All nominations must be submitted on or before Friday, March 28.
