Unintentional lockdown issued at Russellville middle, high schools

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Russellville Independent Schools says two of its schools were placed on an unintentional lockdown on Friday.

According to the district, the lockdown took place at both Russellville Middle School and Russellville High School.

School officials say this occurred due to a physical fight.

All students and staff followed lockdown procedures and are safe, according to the district.

The district thanks the swift response from the local sheriff’s office, Russellville Police Department and emergency responders.
