Glasgow Police Department to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department will be conducting traffic safety in the city limits of Glasgow starting March 5.

Police say the traffic safety checkpoints will be but not limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road through March 31.

During these checkpoints, authorities say officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.

Police say the checkpoints are a tool to promote public safety and give police interaction with the community.
