Successful water rescue reported in Butler Co.

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – One man is safe thanks to rescue efforts from Butler County first responders and emergency management.
On Monday, the Butler County Rescue Squad says several rescue squad members, along with emergency management officials, gathered at the Green River, searching for a man who was not seen for several days.
Officials say the man had been staying near the river bank.
Rescue boats reportedly went out Monday night, with the rescue squad setting up at a nearby parking lot. While deploying several boats, rescuers say the water was too swift to enter a new pavilion to check for the man.
The search was postponed until Tuesday morning.
Search and rescue says that morning, they were able to get the man out safely from being surrounded by water.
Rescuers say it was a “very dangerous situation with a good ending.”
Butler County Search and Rescue says it was out checking for stranded motorists Tuesday night as snow swept into the area. They say everyone has been on call 24/7 as the weather approached.
