1 flown for burn injuries after Nashville Road fire

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One person was flown for treatment after a house fire on Nashville Road in Bowling Green.

According to the Woodburn Fire Department, units responded just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday for a reported structure fire in the 7200 block of Nashville Road.

Fire officials say upon arrival, a two-story home had heavy fire and smoke visible from the second-story window.

All occupants had evacuated, with one burn victim located in the front yard that required medical attention, officials say.

Woodburn firefighters brought the fire under control and extinguished the remaining flames as additional units arrived for assistance.

The victim was transported by Medical Center EMS to a nearby landing zone and flown to a trauma burn center for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The department says while the first floor of the home was untouched, the second floor sustained significant fire, smoke and water damage.

Woodburn units were assisted by the Browning Fire Department, Plano Volunteer Fire Department and Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department. The Bowling Green Fire Department additionally responded to be available for any needed assistance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by BGFD.
