One shot, one arrested in Pike County assault

HUDDY, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post is investigating an assault in Pike County.

KSP says it responded to a shooting in Huddy at the Forest Trace Apartments on Thursday.

Troopers say they located a man who had been shot.

According to KSP, Carson Jones, 45, of Stone, fired a gun, resulting in Chad Hurley being shot. Hurley was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Illegal substances were allegedly located at the scene.

Jones was arrested and is charged with assault 1st degree, possession of a defaced firearm, trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree (fentanyl), trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), and trafficking in controlled substance 3rd degree.

Jones is lodged at the Pike County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
