Juvenile killed in Meade County crash

BRANDENBURG, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision in Meade County.

KSP says it responded to a two-vehicle collision on KY 313 at the entrance to River Ridge Plaza in Brandenburg on Saturday at 11:15 am.

According to KSP’s initial investigation, a truck driven by Kevin Owens, 42 of Brandenburg, made a left hand turn from KY 313 into the River Ridge Plaza, into the path of a dump truck operated by Shawn Goddard, 24 of Brandenburg.

KSP says Owens a juvenile were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. They were taken to a local hospital in Corydon, Indiana. The juvenile was pronounced deceased a the hospital.

Goddard was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
