Glasgow Fire Department battles apartment fire

Barren County fire departments to receive thousands of dollars from FEMA grant

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Fire Department responded to a structure fire structure fire on Friday evening.

Fire Chief Daniel Tinsley said units were dispatched to reports of a fire at 207 Park Avenue at around 5 pm. Fire Units located smoke and fire coming from the front of the apartment.

Firefighters deployed a handline and entered through the front door of the apartment. The fire was engulfed in the living room.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread. The apartment sustained heavy fire and water damage in the living room.

Tinsley says no occupants or firefighters were injured during the event.

The Glasgow Police Department is investigating the fire.

GPD Major Terry Flatt says the Park Avenue intersection with Adams Place was closed due to the fire.
