UPDATE: Local warming shelters to open doors during winter weather

SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY – If you know someone who needs a place to take shelter from severe temperatures, there are several organizations in south-central Kentucky that can help.
Lifeskills, Inc. serves every single south-central Kentucky county and is serving as a warming center Friday, Jan. 10 until 4:30 p.m.
Allen County
Another option is the Victory Hill Dream Center in Scottsville, who will also provide breakfast and lunch options the following day for those who stay. More information can be found here.
Barren County
Bridge Kentucky in Glasgow also has a warming center available. More information can be found by clicking here. The shelter is located at 1411 North Race St., suite E in Glasgow.
Logan County
The following warming shelter locations were also released Thursday by chief Terry Cole with Logan County Search and Rescue:
- Adairville Fire Department
- Logan County Search and Rescue building at 101 Thurston Drive in Russellville starting Friday, Jan. 10 at 8 a.m. through at least the weekend for those in need.
- Russellville Rural Fire Department starting Friday, Jan. 10 at 101 Fisher Drive in Russellville.
Warren County
The Salvation Army Bowling Green is acting as a warming center on Friday, Jan. 10.
According to captain Monica with the Salvation Army of Bowling Green, the Center of Hope opens its dining room as a warming station whenever temperatures fall at or below freezing.
They are open each day from 8 a.m. t0 4 p.m. or until Room in the Inn begins its registration at 5 p.m, serving as an overflow space from Room in the Inn and anyone additional who needs a warm place to stay. More information can be found here.
In addition, the Warren County Public Library has shared the following warming centers in Bowling Green:
- Community Room at Sugar Maple Square at 1347 Richardson -Anna Road: Open Monday, Jan. 6 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Capitol at 416 E. Main Ave.: Open Tuesday, Jan. 7, Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 9 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Wellness Connection at 428 Center St.: Open Friday, Jan. 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The library says at the above three locations, a free lunch will be served daily, alongside free snacks and coffee. If needed, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Warren County Public Library’s shuttle can provide transportation. Overnight shelters in Warren County:
- Room in the Inn: Check-in will begin at 5:30 p.m. nightly at the Life Navigation Center at 400 W. Main Ave with overflow to Salvation Army. Check in is required by 9 p.m. nightly.
