Man accused of retaliating against co-defendant

Bowling Green police arrested Tyrikus D. Boyd, 21, 320 W. 12th Ave., Tuesday after another man, Cody Snider told police Boyd assaulted him in the parking lot behind Prince Hookah Lounge June 2.

Snider, 20, who is a co-defendant with Boyd and several other people in a case involving stolen firearms, told police Boyd and another co-defendant assaulted him, according to Boyd’s arrest citation.

Snider said the other man called him a “snitch” and hit him on the back of the head multiple times at about 9 p.m. June 2, according to Boyd’s arrest citation. After Snider was knocked to the ground, he said Boyd hit him at least twice on the head.

Boyd is aware of statements Snider made implicating he and the others in the purchase of stolen firearms which led in part to the indictments against Boyd the other defendants, according to Boyd’s arrest citation.

Police found Boyd at his home Tuesday and he denied the assault, according to his citation.

He was charged with retaliating against a participant in a legal process. He is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail. His bond on that charge and a separate charge is $16,025.

Court records do not show if a warrant has been issued for the other man Snider named in the assault.
