Mother, son sustain injuries in crash, flown for treatment
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A two-vehicle accident leaves a mother and son life-flighted for injuries.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at Clarksville Road and Olmstead Road Thursday evening.
Sheriff Stephen Stratton says deputies located a yellow Honda car and a red Ford F150.
The Honda, operated by April Yates, was traveling southbound on Clarksville Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Olmstead Road. Yates’ son was also in the vehicle.
The car was struck head-on by the truck traveling northbound on Clarksville Road.
Stratton says the truck was operated by Gary Thomas.
Yates and her son were extracted from the car and transported by EMS. They were later flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment.
Thomas denied medical transport at the scene.
