Warren County man charged with drug possession

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges, including drug possession.
According to a uniform citation by the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded on Friday morning to a home on an active indictment warrant out of Warren County.
Troopers say they were let into the residence and spoke to Joseph Wells, 48, of Bowling Green.
According to authorities, they told Wells he was under arrest after confirming he had an active arrest warrant. During this time, troopers say Wells initially complied but later took an object out of his pocket and threw it across the room.
Troopers say they retrieved the object, which turned out to be a bag of crystal methamphetamine and a straw.
Wells was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
He faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and tampering with physical evidence. In addition, Wells is charged through the warrant with second-degree burglary, theft of legend drug, first offense or value under $300 and theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others.
