Parents in Logan County arrested in reported neglect case
ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – Two parents in Adairville are facing a charge in relation to a reported neglect case involving their young child.
According to a uniform citation, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Nov. 29 for a welfare check on a juvenile.
Authorities say the caller stated the toddler’s living conditions were “filthy.” The caller also advised the child’s parents were Cindy Creek, 33, and William Aaron, 24, both of Adairville.
Deputies say upon arrival and entering the home, they could smell a “foul odor” that was throughout the residence.
According to authorities, the walls and floor of the living room were covered in dirt. In addition, deputies say the kitchen was filthy with dirty dishes in the sink and on the floor. The citation states roaches were noted in multiple rooms.
After speaking to Creek, authorities say they were led to where the three-month-old sleeps, which had dirty walls, spiderwebs with live spiders throughout the ceiling, live roaches and bags of trash on the floor.
Deputies say it was also apparent the bath used for the child had not been uncovered in an extended time due to being under items, and the main bath in the bathroom had no plumbing with a hole that led to the crawlspace of the residence.
Authorities say based on these observations, there was not reasonable diligence in caring for the child by allowing “deplorable conditions causing the juvenile to become neglected.”
Both parents were arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center. The Department for Community Based Services took custody of the child.
Aaron and Creek are charged with endangering welfare of a minor.
