Balloons knock out power in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Celebrations led to a power outage in Franklin.

The Franklin Electric Plant Board says mylar balloons caused a widespread power outage after getting into lines on Sunday afternoon.

Franklin EPB says balloons can cause significant damage to an electrical system and encourages those celebrating to be cautious with the use of balloons.
