Butler Co. woman recognized with award for grant work

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – A Butler County woman is being honored for her part in work supporting community playgrounds.
According to the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, Butler County’s Lisa Evans has worked with their Crumb Rubber Tire-Derived Products Grant for the past two decades.
Crumb rubber surfaces are a material often used at playgrounds.

The cabinet says Evans has administered this grant for almost its entire history, according to Gary Logsdon, assistant director, Division of Waste Management.
The Kentucky Parks and Recreation Society recently recognized Evans with its highest award, the Special Citation Award.
The award recognizes those “that have given outstanding help in the field of recreation or leisure-time pursuits,” according to the cabinet.
Congratulations to Evans on this incredible achievement.
