Lyon County crash leaves one dead

EDDYVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 1 investigated a fatal collision on Friday.

KSP says it responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of I-24 westbound off-ramp at exit 45 and KY-293.

The initial investigation shows a box truck truck operated by Thomas Flood, 24 of Longview, Washington, exited westbound I-24 toward KY-293. A car operated by Jerrod Easley, 54 of Princeton, was traveling northbound on KY-293.

Flood’s truck drove into the path of Easley’s vehicle. Easley’s vehicle struck the side of the truck.

Easley sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Flood was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
