Salvation Army calling on community to ring bells
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A longstanding assistance campaign needs your help this holiday season.
The Salvation Army is asking the community to volunteer as bellringers. The need for assistance programs has increased significantly in 2024.
Bellringing is underway throughout locations in the region and will continue through Christmas Eve.
Proceeds collected in Red Kettles will provide assistance for families and individuals in need. Programs assist in providing food, shelter, toys for children, and clothing for children and seniors.
“The demand for our services has grown as many local families feel the pressure of rising costs. We are doing everything we can to help everyone who reaches out, but our resources are stretched thin. By volunteering as a bellringer, you can make a tangible impact for those in need this holiday season, helping to ensure that no family has to go without food or shelter during this special time of year,” said Captain Johnny Horton, local corps officer of The Salvation Army.
Individuals and organizations can sign up to volunteer at www.RegistertoRing.com.
