Railroad work to cause crossing closures in Hardin, Hart counties

HART, HARDIN COUNTIES, Ky. – Drivers in Hart and Hardin counties will want to be prepared for railroad crossing closures over the next weeks.

According to transportation officials, work by CSX will result in railroad crossing closures along their railroad in Hart and Hardin counties.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Four says the following crossings will be blocked for roughly two days beginning on the listed date:

Hart County 

  • KY 1140 (Raider Hollow Road) beginning Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Milepoint 0.1 crossing near U.S. 31-W in Munfordville.
  • KY 728 (Priceville Road) beginning Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Milepoint 17.3 crossing near U.S. 31-W in Bonnieville.
  • Connector from U.S. 31-W to KY 1656 (Walnut Grove School Road) crossing beginning Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Hardin County 

  • KY 1407 (Nolin Road) beginning Monday, Nov. 25 at the Milepoint 0.0 crossing near Sonora.
  • KY 84 (Western Avenue) beginning Monday, Nov. 25 at the Milepoint 25.2 crossing in Sonora.

Work will be weather dependent, and schedules may be altered accordingly. Detours will be in place.

Officials say residents and agencies should be aware that CSX plans to work on crossings along the line of several private and county road crossings.
