Next phase begins of U.S. 31-W widening in Warren County
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The next phase of a project to widen U.S. 31-W in northern Warren County has officially begun.
Transportation officials say crews have started to move dirt to widen U.S. 31-W from U.S. 68 (mile point 20.9) to Mizpah Road (mile point 22.5).
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the project will widen U.S. 31-W to four lanes to improve safety and efficiency for drivers, along with improving access to the Kentucky Transpark.
“Freight movement is vital to the Transpark and its businesses,” Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 chief engineer Joe Plunk said. “U.S. 31-W is a National Truck Network route, and this project modernizes the road to improve mobility along this important corridor.”
The project is expected to be completed by summer of 2026.
