Visit BGKY receives highest honor in tourism industry
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, better known as Visit BGKY, proved last night the bureau is not just green but bronze, silver and gold.
Visit BGKY earned one gold, eight silver and 10 bronze awards for projects related to tourism from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association.
Visit BGKY’s executive director Sherry Murphy received the prestigious Mangeot-Oaken Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor recognized in the tourism industry.
Another noteworthy award from Visit BGKY consisted of gold being awarded for a Black History Month activation hip-hop group and Bowling Green natives Nappy Roots.
