19-year-old Marine and graduate of Caverna Independent High School dies
HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A community and family are mourning the loss of an area Marine who died on Nov. 2.
According to an obituary by Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Lance Corporal Le’Braun Hamilton, 19, of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina was an active duty Marine and a 2023 graduate of Caverna Independent High School.
The obituary states Le’Braun Hamilton was an active member of Wigwam Full Gospel Church, where he played the drums until his deployment. Hamilton enjoyed gaming and being outside playing basketball and football. It additionally states Le’Braun Hamilton “was a talented young man that had a kind and gentle spirit who would help anyone he could.”
His family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at Brooks Funeral Home and again on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. Central Time at Caverna Independent High School. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Caverna Independent High School with Arch Bishop McPherson and Elder Mark Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Tompkinsville.
An honor ride will take place on Thursday, Nov. 14 from Louisville International Airport, South on Interstate 65 to Cave City, from Cave City on 31-W back to Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville starting around 2:30 p.m. CT.
