Glasgow Fire Department battles Sunday evening blaze

Barren County fire departments to receive thousands of dollars from FEMA grant

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sunday evening.

Assistant Chief Aaron Moulder says the department received a call to a structure fire in the 100 block of Bob White Way at approximately 9:52 pm. Units arrived at the scene at 9:57 pm.

Units at the scene reported heavy smoke and reports of individuals inside the structure.

Firefighters entered the structure and located one victim on the second floor of the structure.

The victim was removed from the structure and transported for care by Barren-Metcalfe EMS.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

One firefighter sustained moderate injuries and received treatment at TJ Samson Hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Glasgow Fire Department was assisted by Barren-Metcalfe EMS, Glasgow Police and Glasgow EPB. South Green St. Church of Christ assisted with family displacement.
