Man charged with kidnapping of adult, assault involving infant in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man is facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, after an incident in Bowling Green on Thursday.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded for a reported disturbance Thursday, Oct. 23 at a Bowling Green residence.
Police say it was reported that a male was assaulting a female.
Upon arrival, police say they observed Mateo Carmelo Domingo, 31, walking away from the house.
Domingo was detained. According to police, the victim stated Domingo broke into the house on Thursday, unlawfully entered and remained overnight.
The citation states the victim said Domingo used a knife to open the front door and entered the house. Police say they recovered a bent knife from the scene.
The victim additionally said Domingo was “very aggressive,” locking the door and not allowing the victim to leave, police say.
Police say the victim stated she was assaulted when she tried to leave. The citation says officers saw visible bruises on the victim’s arms and back.
A door to the bedroom also had visible damage from being kicked in, police say.
In addition, police say the victim stated Domingo threatened to kill her and strangled her for approximately two minutes.
Police say Domingo then went to grab a four-month-old at the scene, dropping the infant against a wall, where she hit her head.
The victim said she was later able to exit and call for help, police say.
Police say upon speaking with Domingo, he smelled “very strongly of alcoholic beverages” and had slurred speech.
Domingo is charged with kidnapping – adult, first-degree burglary, first-degree strangulation (domestic violence related), second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury), fourth-degree assault (child abuse), second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree terroristic threatening and alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.
Jail records additionally indicate Domingo is charged as a fugitive.
