New York Times bestselling illustrator and children’s author to be hosted at Capitol

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A renowned illustrator and children’s author is stopping in Bowling Green next month.
The Warren Count Public Library says it will be hosting New York Times best-selling illustrator and author Mike Lowery at the Capitol Theatre in Bowling Green on Nov. 14.
Free sessions will be available at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
During this time, families and book lovers are invited to enjoy an interactive presentation put together to inspire young readers.
Lowery has created more than 80 books for children, including “Pizza Shark,” the “Bug Scouts” series and the “Everything Awesome” series from Scholastic.
His drawing style has been featured on calendars, advertisements and how-to sketchbook titles as well, the library says.
Lowery has spoken at many colleges, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, book fairs, including the Scholastic book fair, book stores, elementary schools, galleries and events. Additionally, the library says he was aprofessor of illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta for seven years.
The library says Lowery’s presentation will include information about being an author and illustrator, facts and more, including an interactive drawing activity.
Participants can ask questions and get a book signed at the event.
