‘Swing for Dale’ softball game to benefit local officer fighting cancer

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A friendly competition between local first responders is taking place Monday, Oct. 14, all for a good cause.

The fourth annual Police and Fire Softball game will include the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the Bowling Green Police Department, the Bowling Green Fire Department, the Western Kentucky University Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.

The “Swing for Dale” Fundraiser is benefitting officer Dale Barbiea in his battle with cancer, officials say.

Team Shoots and Ladders takes on Team Guns and Hoses at 5:15 p.m., while Team Smokin’ Guns will compete against Team Lights and Sirens at 7 p.m.

Officials say cash and check donations or a donation via a QR code will be accepted at the game.
