“Officer Skelly” at Franklin Police Department

FRANKLIN, Ky. – In an effort to spread a little joy around town, Franklin Police Department recently welcomed a new “officer” to the force just for the month of October.

His name is Officer Skelly, he’s a skeleton riding shotgun alongside Officer Ben Miciotto of FPD, an idea he came up with just to have some fun with the community.

News 40 spoke to both Miciotto and Officer Jenna Trodglen who helps run the Facebook page for FPD, who said since community interaction has increased greatly since introducing Officer Skelly to the Internet.

Trodglen said the department loves to interact with the citizens of Franklin and things like this add another layer to the job of policing, making the department just a little more community-oriented.
