Laptops provided to local students participating in SCK Launch career program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – AT&T and Human I-T are partnering with the Bowling Green Area Chamber Foundation to provide 25 refurbished laptops to local students.
According to a release by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, the laptops, funded by AT&T, will go to students participating in the chamber’s SCK LAUNCH career development program.
“These students are investigating careers and developing skills that will help hem establish pathways to a promising future, and providing this necessary equipment puts them another step closer to success,” said Kim Thomas, Bowling Green Chamber Foundation chair, “It’s not just about technology; it’s about giving them tools to unlock their potential.”
The release says the laptops are part of AT&T’s effort to bridge a digital divide.
In Kentucky, the release says around 13% of households do not have access to internet or devices needed to have online access.
Warren County judge executive Doug Gorman stated, “The laptops provided to these students help the Bowling Green Area Chamber Foundation continue its vital work for our businesses and the families who support them. We are grateful for AT&T’s ongoing dedication to the well-being of our community.”
The chamber says thee laptops will be a key resource for students in the SCK LAUNCH program, which takes place later this month.
