Widespread Verizon outage reported across multiple states

(CNN) – Thousands of Verizon users were without cell phone service Monday following a widespread outage.
More than 104,000 users across the U.S. reported having little or no service Monday morning.
That’s according to Down-Detector, which tracks user reports of internet disruptions.
The outage reportedly impacted a large swath of the Midwest, along with several major cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York and Phoenix.
Many users said their cellphones were intermittently displaying SOS mode, leaving them unable to place calls or send or receive text messages.
Verizon posted on social media that it was aware of an issue impacting service and says it’s working quickly to resolve it.
Verizon is one of the largest cellphone carriers in the world.
