BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Public Library is working to make sure its resources are available to an even wider part of the community.

The library announced Friday that is is launching its newest satellite at the International Center of Kentucky.

The library says this location will be staffed by WCPL’s Brittany Blackerby. Blackerby has degrees in Spanish and history with an emphasis in Latin American studies from WKU, the library says.

WCPL says she spent a year post-graduation in Ecuador as a Rotary Club international ambassador and studied international relations. She has also taught Spanish in Louisville for a number of years before moving back to Bowling Green.

Blackerby said, “I am excited to be at the International Center’s satellite branch, because I see the value of introducing new members of our community to the library system. Making a trip to one of the other locations might feel overwhelming to someone who is still learning the city, but they can visit the satellite branch while they are already in the building for ESL classes or case worker meetings.”

The satellite will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at 806 Kenton St. in the newer building that houses the Dr. Catherine Center for New Americans.
