UPDATE: Bowling Green police respond to fatal collision on River Street
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a reported collision on River Street near the Old Louisville Road intersection, authorities say.
According to BGPD, officers responded Tuesday to the 1400 block of River Street.
During an investigation, police say they determined a vehicle traveling north on River Street drove into the southbound lane before hitting a pickup truck head on.
The sole occupant of the pickup truck, identified as Dennis R. Carter, 89, of Bowling Green, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries, while the passenger was transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Currently, police say no charges have been filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
