Hart County man charged with assault, terroristic threatening

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A man is facing multiple charges after troopers say they responded Sunday for a domestic abuse case in Horse Cave.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police responded around 1:11 a.m. to a Horse Cave residence where a man was pointing a firearm at other people.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office and Horse Cave Police Department also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities say Donnie Prescott, 51, of Munfordville had firearms in both hands while making verbal threats to law enforcement.
Troopers say they “wrestled Prescott to the ground,” where he resisted arrest several times. Authorities say pepper spray was used on Prescott, who was then detained. He was treated with immediate medical care and later transported by EMS to The Medical Center at Caverna, where he was released.
Prescott was transported to the Hart County Jail, where he remains on a $5,000 cash bond.
Authorities say two people at the scene stated Prescott had pushed or tossed them around the house.
Prescott is charged with fourth-degree assault dating violence (no visible injury), second-degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, menacing and first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
