Hart County Schools releases message amid online threat
HART COUNTY, Ky. – The Hart County Sheriff’s Office has shared a message from Hart County Schools as an online threat investigation continues.
The district says the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police are investigating a Snapchat post that has been shared that makes a “non-specific threat.”
“We have no reason to believe this post is specifically related to Hart County Schools at this time,” the district says.
The full statement includes the following:
“Parents, guardians and staff,”
“As a follow-up to our safety communication to everyone last evening, Hart County Schools investigates fully and aggressively any threat or perceived threat. To keep you informed, we are aware this morning of a SnapChat post being shared. The name of the individual who created the original post is not enrolled in Hart County Schools. The post makes a non-specific threat. The Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police are investigating and pursuing this as we speak. We have no reason to believe this post is specifically related to Hart County Schools at this time. If there are any additional developments related to this information, we will keep you updated.”
