Police respond to injury collision at Happy Valley Road intersection

GLASGOW, Ky. – Police responded for a reported injury collision Sunday at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Veterans Outer Loop.

The Glasgow Police Department says it determined a 2016 Nissan Altima operated by Ava Taylor of Smiths Grove was traveling westbound on Happy Valley Road when it stopped at the intersection with Veterans Outer Loop.

Taylor stated her light was blinking yellow when she attempted to turn left onto Veterans Outer Loop, authorities say.

Deputies say Taylor pulled into the path of a 2015 Ford Escape operated by Rita Stafford of Cookeville, Tennesee, who was traveling eastbound on Happy Valley Road.

Rita Stafford, a passenger identified as Robert Stafford and Taylor were transported by Barren/Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for their injuries.

Stafford was later flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

The collision was investigated by a Glasgow officer. Barren/Metcalfe EMS and the Glasgow Fire Department assisted at the scene.
