Edmonson County Water District issues boil water advisory

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Edmonson County Water District has issued a boil water advisory as of Sept. 4.

According to a social media post by the district, “the potential exists for bacteriological contamination due to low pressure or no pressure because of a main line break.”

The district says affected areas include Highway 88 from Wax to Munfordville, Highway 88 from Wax to Iberia, Highway 889 from Sandlin Lane to the end of the road, Highway 728 from the county line to Charles Jaggers Road and Highway 1827 from Cub Run to 569 Cherry Springs Road, including all side roads.

The advisory will remain in effect until water samples are taken and the threat of contamination has been eliminated to the satisfaction of the Environmental Protection Agency.

The district says those in affected areas must boil water to a full boil for at least three minutes.
