Cave City man charged with illegal gun possession

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A Cave City man is facing a gun possession charge.

The Cave City Police Department responded to a call at approximately 8:28 pm on August 6 of a female screaming at a hotel on North Dixie Highway.

At the scene, an officer contacted a female and male who said an argument was verbal and no physical contact was made.

Police identified the man as Prince Fryar, 44 of Cave City.

Upon arrival, police say Fryar was in the parking lot and showed signs of intoxication.

During the investigation, Fryar allowed officers to enter the room. Police say they located a 9mm handgun and ammunition in plain view. Fryar is a convicted felon.

Fryar was placed under arrest and is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.

Fryar is charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
