NEW DETAILS: Todd County Sheriff investigating fatal crash on US 79

ALLENSVILLE, Ky. – The Todd County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious injury crash on Thursday morning.

According to a report by WNKY News 40 partner WEKT, a tractor-trailer travelling southbound on US 79 was hauling rolls of aluminum. One of the rolls came off the vehicle and collided with a car travelling northbound.

Deputies say that the driver of the car, Edwin Chaparro, 29 of Clarksville, TN, was killed in the crash. The Todd County Coroner’s Office pronounced Chaparro dead at the scene.

US 79 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
